Presentation of Moughenda Village
Moughenda Village is the world’s first Missoko Bwiti initiation and Iboga practitioner training center, officially approved by the Gabonese Ministry of Tourism. Since 1990, Moughenda Village has been guiding spiritual seekers through the sacred Bwiti initiation rites in the village of Moughenda, Gabon.

We offer authentic Iboga retreats, certified Ibogaine practitioner training, and post-treatment care programs—all rooted in ancestral traditions and designed with a focus on safety. Our global network of trained practitioners continues to share the ancestral teachings of Bwiti, offering opportunities for healing and personal transformation around the world.

History and Achievements

  • 1990: Opening of Moughenda Village in Gabon, led by Moughenda Mikala, a 10th-generation shaman from the Missoko Bwiti lineage. This sacred site has welcomed seekers from across the world, offering them an immersion in the authentic Bwiti tradition.
  • 2011–2014: Founding of Iboga House in Costa Rica, the first Iboga and Ibogaine detox retreat center established outside Gabon. This center laid the foundation for global recognition of traditional Bwiti healing.
  • 2012: Launch of the Global Ibogaine Practitioner Training Program, aimed at transmitting Missoko Bwiti knowledge, certifying future practitioners, and establishing strict safety protocols, including medical and cardiac evaluations.
  • 2022: Global expansion with 22 centers in 9 countries, 50 certified practitioners, and thousands of people healed through the medicine of Iboga.

Today, Moughenda Village is partnering with the Gabonese government to bring awareness of our sacred root and what it can offer to the world
