Uwe Maas has worked as a clinical pediatrician in different hospitals in Germany, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Rwanda. During a working visit at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Gabon (1999), he developed friendships with traditional Mitsogho healers, and his interest in their practices led him to be initiated into the Missoko Bwiti in 2001. Uwe is a classical and folk violinist. One of his main interests are spiritual implications in prehistoric rock paintings.
He will share about his published research works: “The near-death experience: A cerebellar method to protect body and soul – Lessons from the Iboga healing ceremony in Gabon” and primarily focusing on: “Music in the Iboga initiation ceremony in Gabon: Polyrhythms supporting a pharmacotherapy”
